A Swiss university accepts Bitcoin as payment method.
The Bitcoin has just been accepted as a payment method by the Swiss University of Lucerne in applied sciences and arts.
This method of payment was realized thanks to a partnership with Bitcoin Switzerland AG.
It is of course not the university that will manage the payments with the crypto money, but the brokerage that will take care of it.
It will also take on the risk of loss in exchange as well as fluctuations of the market.
This means of payment is not yet generalized to the students.
This initiative of the Swiss University follows that of King's College of New York, the University of Cumbria of the United Kingdom, and the University of Nicosia in Cyprus.
This project is not surprising given that the University of Science and Applied Arts participates in a number of Blockchain initiatives as an identity solution based on the Ethereum and is also a member of the association Crypto Valley, a research group that works for startups and Swiss companies using this new technology.
