The Canadian Central Bank launches the continuation of the "Jasper project" concerning the blockchain
"Payments Canada", which operates the primary payment channels in Canada and the TMX exchange operator, joined the Canadian central bank in the project called "Jasper project," interested in the Blockchain technology.
It also seems that a third partner still undecided must take part in the project.
This project set up by the Canadian Central Bank, aims to explore the different possibilities of using the new technology and in particular the payment security on the platform.
For this new phase, the focus will be on creating an integral secure payment platform.
The first Deputy Governor of the Canadian Central Bank, Carolyn Wilkins described this new phase:
"Our participation in this effort to explore possible ways to modernize the process of safety of securities regulations is a good example of how the Bank of Canada promotes the efficiency and stability of the financial system. A better resolution process would not only reduce the cost of securities, but also to support the financial system's resilience, particularly in periods of stress, deadlines faster resolution reducing settlement risk. "
The central bank in June 2016 launched a pseudo currency the "DAC corner" and those responsible for this initiative were released late last month, the white paper detailing the work done so far.
