Four Out of Five Americans Admit They Would Invest in Bitcoin
A new study has shown the effects of growing adoption and popularity in Bitcoin with 83% of Americans admitting that they would consider investing in Bitcoin.
The study is revealing as it goes on to break down the demographics, attitudes, and beliefs of potential investors, and, unlike a few brief years ago, the uptake is staggering. The results also start to paint Bitcoin in a light not too dissimilar to traditional assets with regards to investor’s opinions.
Just like the average investor
Taking into consideration American’s political affiliation, gender, and income, there were many similarities between bitcoin-interested investors, and those who are more interested in traditional forms of investment.
On the democrat vs republican split, there was only a percent each way difference between the interest in investing in traditional forms vs Bitcoin. In fact, both sides of the political split were more likely to invest in Bitcoin, by a slender margin.
When it came to the gender split, bitcoin-untrusted male investors made up 57 percent with those of a traditional bias sitting at 49 percent. It was the other way with females as the Bitcoin-keen ones were 43 percent to 51.
When it came to income, higher income earners were nearly equal in terms of their interest in traditional means and Bitcoin; both around 21 percent. The same could be seen with slightly lower earning capacity; also 21 percent across the two sides.
Growing interest
Overall, the biggest takeaway was just how much more interest and knowledge there was surrounding Bitcoin. As much as 83 percent out of the 1,100 surveyed said they were keen to delve into crypto with a small investment in Bitcoin.
However, the figure that are fully in support and belief in Bitcoin is substantially lower. The survey showed that would consider an investment in Bitcoin of any allocation was only 36 percent - yet that is a substantial figure in comparison to previous surveys.
Wild West
The survey also revealed what was keeping the people away from Bitcoin investing in any form and the predominant answer linked back down to the Wild West sentiment of the cryptocurrency industry
It showed that 75 percent of all investors and 68 percent of those interested in Bitcoin were fearful of digital crime in the Bitcoins space.
