La Suisse est connue dans le monde des crypto-monnaies comme étant une crypto-nation. La Crypto Valley ou de son vrai nom Zoug est une petite ville Suisse où de nombreuses entreprise lié à la blockchain se sont établies pour profiter d’une fiscalité avantageuse. Bien que la Suisse soit un pays où les crypto-monnaies soient populaires, les grandes institutions financières sont restées à l’écart. Toutefois, au dernière nouvelle, la Suisse envisagerait formellement les différentes possibilités pour mettre en place une crypto-monnaie nationale. Une étude sur les opportunités et les risques d’un « e-franc » a été demandée par le gouvernement suisse.
